Monte Carlo Night at Good Shepherd

It’s time for Monte Carlo night at Good Shepherd again! This has been a tradition for probably 25 years. The residents at Good Shepherd look forward to an evening of casino games with our Allentown Rotary.

Although we have not had their participation in the last few years, we are hoping to get our Interact Club involved this year. Many high school students have not been exposed to disabled individuals in this type of a setting. Consequently, it is an eye-opening, yet rewarding, experience for many of them.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the event. ARC brings in the various casino games, e.g. roulette, blackjack, bingo, and we are the croupiers, dealers, etc. The residents bet with the chips they have been given when they enter.  They bet at the games and take their winnings to cash in for the various products that ARC provides. These products include:

• Body Wash,
• Shampoo, conditioner (including men’s type)
• body soaps,
• deodorant,
• tooth brushes, tooth paste,
• candy bars(no peanuts), chips,
• drinks- flavored ice tea or soda (non- glass containers)
• Spring Decorations

ARC members donated these items, so, please bring them to the in-person meetings over the next several weeks.

We will have a fellowship get-together immediately afterwards…place yet to be determined.
